The warden threw a party in the county jail The prison band was there and they began to wail. The band was jumpin\' and the joint began to swing
You should\'ve heard those knocked out jailbirds sing Let\'s rock, everybody, let\'s rock Everybody in the whole cell block was dancin\' to the Jailhouse Rock
Spider Murphy played the tenor saxophone Little Joe was blowin\' on the slide trombone The drummer boy from Illinois went crash, boom, banG
the whole rhythm section was the Purple Gang Let\'s rock, everybody, let\'s rock Everybody in the whole cell block was dancin\' to the Jailhouse Rock
Number forty-seven said to number three: "You\'re the cutest jailbird I ever did see I sure would be delighted with your company
come on and do the Jailhouse Rock with me Let\'s rock, everybody, let\'s rock Everybody in the whole cell block was dancin\' to the Jailhouse Rock
The sad sack was a sittin\' on a block of stone way over in the corner weepin\' all alone The warden said, "Hey, buddy, don\'t you be no square If you can\'t find a partner use a wooden chair Let\'s rock, everybody, let\'s rock Everybody in the whole cell block was dancin\' to the Jailhouse Rock
Shifty Henry said to Bugs, "For Heaven\'s sake no one\'s lookin\', now\'s our chance to make a break. Bugsy turned to Shifty and he said, "Nix nix
I wanna stick around a while and get my kicks Let\'s rock, everybody, let\'s rock Everybody in the whole cell block was dancin\' to the Jailhouse Rock

Collingwood was taken over from July 22 to 25 by dozens and dozens of Elvis Tribute Artists from around the world and some amazing talent. The Collingwood Elvis Festival is in its 15th year and has become the largest Elvis Fest in the world. The winner goes to Graceland to compete to be crowned the "King" of Tribute Artists. I can't begin to describe what a hoot it was and how much fun I had. The guys are great and so into it. Their sense of fun, fan appreciation and graciousness helped make it the best time I've had in a long time. MORE TO COME!!! Oh ... the hotty GI Elvis ... be still my heart!!!
The official Collingwood Elvis Festival website. You can see all my photos at: Elvis 2010 Galleries (1st year for me so waaaay too many. Also taking some for the guys so lots of similar shots by they gotta choose!). Gotta check out the little kids, a few as young as 5 - just darling. Just us the drop down menu. You all gotta come next year!!!

This is why I've been scare ... but oh what fun! Silver Elvis also performs on a daily basis in downtown Toronto. He can be seen on Queen Street a fair bid. He was most gracious and approachable by people, families and photographers all wanting a snap!

revisionist history would like you to believe that drug/alcohol abuse impedes the creative impulse.
now, i am not advocating the use of any illicit (or non illicit, for that matter) substances. i do not take illegal drugs (just do not want to chance an encounter with the draconian - and completely ineffective - drug police in the united states). i do drink a wee bit.
just making the point that, obviously, the use of these substances has been a pivotal piece of art in western civilization. it is what it is. to deny that, to me, seems....uh, dumb.
note: of all names to have a typo: townes van zandt, the most holy of heroes.

I visited with her again this morning, same spot, same time - she would not eat out of my hand or let me pet her but she did make contact, gently pawing the tip of my extended hand, claws out. A tenant two floors up in the adjacent building called her so I found out her name: Tender. She leisurely performed some of her routine, cat cleaning, cat stretch, front, back and the arch, cat scratch on a nearby tree trunk, and this rollover, interrupted by a run towards two incoming leashed dogs, whom she eyed warily. Oh, and she meowed softly in response to some questions I proferred. All in a ten minute visit.
PS. In case you never heard Elvis's song, YouTube Love me tender
